Aetus, Sapi de C.V.

Vancouver, British Columbia – July 21, 2016 – AETUS, SAPI DE C.V. (“Aetus”) announces that it has acquired 17,333,333 units of Candelaria Mining Corp. (the “Company”) on June 14, 2016 pursuant to a non-brokered private placement for total consideration in the amount of $2,300,000. Each unit is comprised of one common share and one-half of one share purchase warrant. Each whole warrant entitles the holder to acquire one additional common share at a price of $0.25 per share until December 14, 2017.

As a result of the foregoing acquisition, Aetus owns a total of 17,333,333 common shares of the Issuer representing approximately 7.3% of the issued and outstanding shares of the Issuer. Aetus also owns warrants exercisable to acquire up to 8,666,666 common shares of the Issuer. If Aetus was to exercise all of its warrants, it would then own 25,999,999 common shares of the Issuer representing approximately 10.6% of the issued and outstanding shares of the Issuer on a partially diluted basis, assuming that no further common shares of the Issuer have been issued. Aetus is controlled by Joaquin Gonzalez Gutierrez, Pablo Collado Casares and Roberto Gonzalez Hornedo.

The proceeds from the private placement will be used by the Issuer for general working capital and to fund the Issuer’s Caballo Blanco acquisition from Timmins Gold Corp.

The securities acquired will be held for investment purposes. Aetus may, depending on market and other conditions, increase or decrease its beneficial ownership of the Company’s securities, whether in the open market, by privately negotiated agreements or otherwise, subject to a number of factors, including general market conditions and other available investment and business opportunities.

This press release is issued pursuant to Multilateral Instrument 62-104 and a report respecting the above acquisition will be filed with the applicable securities commissions using the Canadian System for Electronic Document Analysis and Retrieval (SEDAR) and will be available for viewing at www.sedar.com.
